At this point, i am not accepting payment through credit card. This may change but not yet. I do accept checks, money orders or cash. Checks should be made out to Garlicana. When you send in your check, if there is neither a form nor piece of paper that includes who you are, your email and shipping address, i will neither send your order nor cash your check. Preferably there’s an order form with the varieties and quantities listed.
If you have queries about varieties, it may be faster to inquire by phone than email as i can be conversant while attending to myriad tasks. There’s no office staff here and i’m more likely working than writing on the computer. Due to the abnormally high volume of spam robo-calls of late, calls are screened so please leave a message.
If ordering in October or later, please check for availability and quantity first. As there is no automated shopping cart, neither is there a list of available varieties and quantities. Do inquire about what you are interested in and i will convey if it’s available or offer a comparable substitute.
GARLIC PRICES
$17 per half pound, $27 per pound
1/4 lb. samples for all varieties are $11 (note that 1/4 lb. is usually two bulbs)
Bulk Prices: bulk quantity discounts are available for designated varieties, not for overall weight of the order. 11-25 lbs. $24/lb., contact for orders of single varieties over 25 lbs.
Sample Packages:
- 2 lbs. Includes ½ lb. each Artichoke, Silverskin, Purple Stripe, Porcelain. $75
- 2.5 lbs. Includes ¼ lb. each of all ten groups: Artichoke, Silverskin, Purple Stripe, Porcelain, Turban, Marbled, Glazed and Asiatic, Creole and Rocambole $120
- 5 lbs. Same as above but ½ lb. each $180
Note: late orders for sample packages may include substitutions of wild or unclassified varieties for anything that is otherwise sold out. You will get something well worth growing, rest assured.
SHALLOT PRICES:
French Grey: $25 per pound, all others $24 per pound. Quarter pounds are $11 and half pounds for all are $17.
SHIPPING
USPS prices increased July 13th and will go up again in October. At this point USPS Priority is slower than it used to be an 1st class is unreliable. Shipping usually begins in late-September. Unless you specifically request otherwise, checks won’t be deposited until the order is ready to ship. If there’s problems like the annual catastrophic wildfires finally sweep over the farm, your uncashed check will go up with the roasting garlic. Garlicana does not ship internationally. If you have a US address, i’ll send it and you can take it from there.
Most orders are shipped in USPS priority flat rate boxes: a medium box will hold 4-5 lbs., a large will hold 7-8 lbs. of assorted varieties and up to 11 lbs. of a single variety.
- For orders up to 1.75 lbs, shipping price is $12
- For orders up to 4.75 lbs, shipping price is $20
- For orders between 5 lbs. And 8 lbs. shipping is $30.
- For orders over 8 lbs. please call or email to work out shipping rates.
Garlic powder has a minimum $15 shipping cost unless ordered with garlic and/or shallots, then there’s no extra charge.
If you live in the Pacific Northwest or Northern CA, please call for discounted shipping rates. This is in the Pacific Standard Time Zone so please keep that in mind if you’re out east.
